MongoDB CEO CJ Desai leaves for Meta as Dev Ittycheria returns as interim chief

CJ Desai has left MongoDB's top job with immediate effect and is joining Meta in a senior position. The board named Dev Ittycheria, chief executive from 2014 to 2025, as interim president and CEO. (MongoDB Newsroom; SEC EDGAR (MongoDB 8-K))

The board has hired an executive search firm to find a permanent CEO. MongoDB reaffirmed the Q3 and fiscal 2027 guidance it gave on September 1, and went ahead with its September 29 investor day.
