Oracle will offer Google TPUs on OCI starting in 2027
Oracle will offer Google's TPUs through OCI from 2027, the first time Google's AI chips will be sold through another hyperscale cloud.
Oracle said Google's Tensor Processing Units will be available through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, which it described as the first time Google's TPUs will be offered on a hyperscale cloud other than Google's own. OCI will provide the power, cooling and data center networking, with availability in calendar 2027 and a ramp over several years. (Oracle; Google Cloud)
The chips are aimed at large-model training and post-training as well as production inference. Oracle named no customers, regions, pricing or capacity figures. The announcement came at Oracle AI World, where Oracle also said it plans to add Cerebras accelerators to OCI. (Oracle; SiliconANGLE)
